Setting

As the river rhapsodies moves through Grand Rapids, MJ3, the Michael Jackson Impersonator and The 3 Legends Production, brings another kind of rhapsody to events in West Michigan. "3 Legends" Jackie Wilson, James Brown, and Michael Jackson tributes, or an "MJ spotlight" is featured as a showcase staged in concert halls such as DeVos Performance Hall, at black-tie weddings, and for corporate events that include annual association galas and holiday celebrations at the Amway Grand Plaza. Planners can also hire MJ3 as a Michael Jackson impersonator for select international engagements.

Rooted in Musical Legacy

This is the history of MJ3.

Emerging from a foundation converging in layers: First talent show victory on the Theodore Roosevelt High School stage, born in Gary, Indiana, the youngest of nine. MJ3 — organic realism.

Grand Rapids centers on a high concentration of corporate flagships. MJ3 centers in entertainment with tributes to Jackie Wilson, James Brown, and Michael Jackson.

The MJ3 production’s artistic lineage draws from five characteristics: the form of Fred Astaire, the thrust of the Nicholas Brothers, the intensity of James Brown, the bravado of Jackie Wilson, and the mosaic Michael Jackson built from them all.

Realizations

“We hired for an 80s party and it was so good our guests are still talking about it. He arrived on time, put on one of the best Michael Jackson performances I’ve ever seen and stayed after the show to meet some of the attendees and posed for pictures! Everybody got a kick out of reliving the 80s with Michael!”

Jonathon S., Downtown Grand Rapids

“Our favorite after Billie Jean of course :D was definitely the Smooth Criminal routine. Seeing all of that choreography live right in front of our eyes was absolutely amazing!”

Alisha L., East Grand Rapids

“What made this show so unique was how it highlighted the musical roots. The Jackie Wilson, James Brown and J5 medleys on top of the moonwalking MJ had everyone enjoying the show in a richer way compared to an average MJ Impersonator show.”

Todd M., Kentwood

“He has mastered the poses, looks, pauses and dance that Michael used to work up crowds!”
